"In the house of the sun" is a trilogy retelling the Minotaur myth from the women's points of view.
Based on the Greek myth of "Theseus and the minotaur", “In the house of the sun” is the untold story of the women that, in their quest for freedom, made a legend out of a man but were forgotten by history. An exploration on family dynamics, sex, and violence in a culture ruled by
fear.
During its creative development at Testing Grounds (Queen Victoria Markets) in May 2022,
physical and text explorations -inspired by Pina Bausch's Danztheatre, Damien Jalet's choreographic storytelling, and Jennifer Saint's novel "Ariadne”- kickstarted the project.
In August 2022, Rebecca started her artistic residency at Chantilly Studio (Nicholas Building) where she continued to develop the script.
