Margarita, esta lindá la mar,
y el viento
lleva esencia sutil de azahar:
tu aliento.

Ya que lejos de mí vas a estar,
guarda, niña, un gentil pensamiento
al que un día te quiso contar
un cuento.

Margarita,

by Ruben Dario.

BRIEF

"Cuentos de Carton" (cardboard stories) is an interactive production for kids that gives life to beloved characters from Latinamerican classics, like "Margarita" , "El rey mocho", "El perro del cerro y la rana de la sabana", y "La ratoncita presumida". Its cardboard aesthetics include the use of props and masks created by the team.

Rebecca first encountered these books - published by Ediciones Ekare - working as a storyteller in "Cuentos de Canela" (Caracas, 2006-2010) under the mentorship of Ludmila Esqueda.

"Cuentos de Carton" is a co-production with Ezzena Teatro. Thanks to Ezzena, "Cuentos de Carton" continued its performances after Rebecca moved out of Mexico to London.

To this day, "Cuentos de Carton" has been performed in Mexico City over 50 times.
